Counselor In Training (CIT) is a program for person desiring future leadership roles as Summer Camp Counselors. The CIT Program is an advanced program. CITs have their own Director who assists them in planning their program, supervises their activities and evaluates their progress. CITs must sign a contract agreeing with our rules. Those new to us must have a school reference.

The CIT Program has many advanced components. CITs learn much of the same material covered during our professional staff training. The CIT Program is a great opportunity for exceptional campers to develop their leadership skills. We provide hands-on learning allowing campers to slowly work into responsible roles leading children. We assist them in developing their communication and organizational skills. CIT's may choose a two week session and complete the program over two summers, or do it in one summer as a four week CIT.

Our Counselor-In-Training program is a graduated program allowing the person to slowly work into a responsible role leading children. CIT's will be expected to assist counselors in program activities, cabin life, and the day to day jobs of working in a summer camp. CIT's will live with other CIT's of the same sex while learning the basics of being a counselor-in-training.

When the CIT director feels the CIT is ready, he/she will move into a cabin group of younger campers to assist the counselor. Our goal is to provide our CITs with positive experiences which will enhance their personal growth and build self-esteem.
